What if you could step into a pod and emerge refreshed and clean in just 15 minutes? You can, in the land of innovation, AKA Japan, Scientists you unveiled a futuristic ‘human washing machine”, an AI-controlled device that can wash and dry people within 15 minutes.

The innovation called “MiraiNingen Sentakuk” developed by Japanese company Science Co. offers a spa-like experience with advanced water jets and microscopic air bubbles for cleaning. The AI system adapts the wash cycle to the user’s skin type and physical data and plays soothing images during the process, reports Japanese publication Ashahi Shimbun ‘You step into a transparent pod that fills halfway with warm water. The high-speed water jets then release microscopic air bubbles that burst on contact with your skin, removing dirt and impurities.’ The AI technology monitors your vital signs and adjusts the temperature and pressure of the water jets for maximum comfort.

The machine also focuses on your mental wellbeing. It analyses your emotional state and projects calming images inside the capsule to soothe and relax you. Inspired by a similar concept introduced by Sanyo Electric in the 1970s, this modernised version will debut at Osaka Expo 2025, where 1,000 visitors will be able to experience it first-hand. After testing, the device will go into mass production and promises to revolutionise personal care and relaxation. The company is also planning a version for home use. The company is already taking reservations for the automatic bathtub on its website. “We about 70 per cent there. We plan to offer 1,000 general visitors the opportunity to use it during the fair,” said the company’s chairman, Yasuaki Aoyama, during a talk last year.
