Lady: “I am a Chinese immigrant who survived communism,” said as she joined the heated debate on gun control. “Under Mao, 40 million people starved to death after he sold them communism. Twenty million people died during the Cultural Revolution. So my question is: Can anyone guarantee me that our government in the US, in DC, will never become a tyrannical government?”
Her words hung heavy in the air. The room fell silent.
“Can you guarantee me that?” she urged, looking around the room.
She turned to her opponent in the debate, David.
David hesitated, then replied, “I can not guarantee you that a government would not become tyrannical”
She nodded solemnly. “Then the gun control debate is over. I would never give up my gun, ever. Everyone should go to China to see how gun control works in the CCP’s dictatorship.”
The room fell silent, the weight of her experience and her words sinking in.
