I am small and fuzzy, with bright stripes,
I buzz through the flowers where nectar flows.
I’m not just a pest, I’m nature’s little star,
And my hive is a wonder, where we work hard, no bar.
My dance is a message, a wag or a round,
To my friends in the hive, that’s how you find secrets.
Our queen is a miracle, she’s the heart of our home,
And her workers, like me, from dusk till dawn.
I make golden honey, a sweet, sticky treat,
And I buzz through the meadow, with light, gentle feet.
In fields of bright flowers, where pollen is the prize,
I am nature’s own gardener, in a small, striped disguise.
So tell me, dear reader, what am I, you see?
A creature that is so vital, for you and for me.
On this World Bee Day, let’s give a loud cheer,
For the buzzing little bees that are dear to us.
Answer me: I am a bee!
Have you guessed it? Bees are amazing creatures that play a crucial role in our ecosystems. They pollinate flowers, produce honey, and are essential to agriculture. Their hives are marvels of organisation and their communication through dances is a fascinating form of language. The best of all is that Turkey is the only country where bees produce honey for nine months of the year. So next time you see a bee buzzing by, remember how important and incredible they really are! Happy World Bee Day!
