Ayşe Ünlüce was born in 1970 in the vibrant city of Eskişehir and has always been a trailblazer. From her humble beginnings to her groundbreaking achievements, her journey has been nothing short of inspiring.

After graduating from Dokuz Eylül University’s Faculty of Law, Ayşe Ünlüce embarked on a career in the legal field and worked as a judge for a time. But her passion for serving her community led her down a new path – into local government.

In 2016, Ayşe Ünlüce was appointed as the 1st Legal Counsellor of Eskişehir Municipality, which marked the beginning of her illustrious career in local government. Her dedication and expertise quickly earned her recognition and in 2018 she took on the role of Secretary General of the Municipality.

But Ayşe’s journey is not only characterised by her professional successes. As a mother of two, she has effortlessly balanced her career with her family commitments, proving that women can excel in both fields.

Tragically, Ayşe suffered a great loss last year with the death of her husband Aydın Ünlüce, the deputy mayor of Eskişehir Municipality. Despite personal adversity, Ayşe remained resilient and drew strength from her commitment to public service.

In March 2024, Ayşe Ünlüce made history when she became the first woman to win the mayoral elections in Eskişehir as a candidate for the Republican People’s Party (CHP). Ayşe Ünlüce followed in the footsteps of the esteemed Prof Dr Yılmaz Büyükerşen, who had held the office of mayor for five consecutive terms, and took on her new role with grace and determination.

The story of Ayşe Ünlüce is a testament to the power of perseverance, passion and determination. As she continues to lead Eskişehir into a new era of progress and prosperity, she remains an inspiration to all who strive to make a positive impact on their communities. With her unwavering determination and compassionate leadership, Ayşe is truly a beacon of hope for the future.
